[So Kurt intially wakes up near the southern lake - in an immediate panic at the lack of clothes, even his uniform, or his image inducer. He only sees the book nearby. Curiously, he winds up peering into it and musing into it, unaware that it's recording this snippet.]

Doesn't look at all like the bayou... Where did they go? [He looks down into the book.] And where did this book come from? My name's on it. A gift from the Professor? Something about this book seems really weird... But I should try to find the others first.

[And so... this blue, fuzz demon will be teleporting around in acrid puffs of smoke, trying to stick to treetops and following the river towards the village. Every now and then, he stops just to take another look at the book. There's got to be something he's missing. And are those voices he hears from this weird book?

And as he arrives at the village, he may wind up accidentally teleporting into one of several houses. Something just seems a little off about his power here, you know? Hope this blue demon-looking guy doesn't catch you off-guard, with the dramatic smoke puffs that follow him. He could even wind up in the item or clothing shop before meeting anyone he knows.]

Then it's this way. [It isn't hard at all to pick up the same easy familiarity with Kurt that she had before.]

Alright! [And he walks alongside her. It is a bit odd how... familiar she seems to be. As if he just walked into a friendship in the middle. Someone being that comfortable with him was welcome in a way, but for it to be that sudden, it felt kind of... like a lot. But he knew how to not show it that much.]

So, Mia, have we known each other for long?

You have been gone for a while now, but you...when I first arrived here a year and a half ago, you were the one who helped me.

Really. [He grabs his chin in mock-thought. Over a year ago... he was here that long ago, and knew her since then...] It sounds like something I would do. I didn't look like this, did I?

Oh, yes you did! I ran into your tail, actually.

[wildbluevagner]

Did you now. [He wraps his tail around to the front of his body and waves his finger at it as if it were a dog.] I hope you were on your best behavior, young man.

[Kurt is accomplishing things of a magnitude he can't possibly understand right now. She's giggling.]

I hope I was. It must have been a shock, to suddenly be in a new world and have someone looking like this as your welcoming wagon.

At the time you had all of your clothes on.

[It would be an insult to him not to acknowledge what he really means.] In my world, there are villages of people with, ah, fur and villages of people who range in color from pink to teal. You are not so strange.

[He makes a sheepish attempt to cover his chest, but his hands drop as he takes in her words.]

Whoa, really? That world you come from... Sounds like you've got a serious case of the fuzz!

[But that world... It's hard to imagine. The only people like him in skin tone or fur he knew were Hank McCoy and... Wow, a whole world with villages of people like him.]

We have a serious case of quite a few things. Most people here, in Luceti, probably won't find you odd either.

[There's the clothing shop! Mia stops outside the door and nods to it.]

You should be able to find everything you need here.

But I'd have to find that out the hard way.

[He smiles as he takes a look inside.]

[A cheerful smile.] You're quite welcome. I can wait for you out here if you'd like me to.

[He nods along with her first sentence, still really doubting that he'll get such a level of acceptance.]

Yeah, if you want, I'll be right out in a jiff! It'll be an important test to tell if I have enough wits to make my way around a clothing store!

Well, I don't want to keep you. Did any of the others tell you where the house is?

Mmhmm, that's the one. It's just over there [pointing in the proper direction up the road] but maybe you ought to walk there the first time.

You know? After all the mishaps that've happened today when I tried my teleporting, that sounds like the best advice I could get. You're a wise one, Mia.

Oh, maybe that's because you aren't as strong here as you would be at home. I think you could only go so far, last time.

Something funky in the air here? But... that would explain a lot. [He sighs.] And I bet Logan's going to enjoy this excuse to give us more Danger Room time.

No, it is a limit on our abilities imposed by the Malnosso. I wish I could say you'll get used to it, but...well. Maybe you will.

The "danger room" is the name of his training program, isn't it?

More like a torture progam. [He sighs. But then he blinks as he realizes what they're talking about.] You really know a lot about us, don't you?

You could say that. Living in a house with Rogue and Logan and Ororo has taught me more about you! And they always train in the place where I work.

You don't say. Heh, it's almost like you're one of us. [It was weird. Like being gone forever without knowing he was gone and coming back to a new member of the family... who already knew so much about him.] I hope you haven't just been told the most embarrassing stories.

[Mia blushes, one hand tugging at the opposite sleeve.] No, I...of course I haven't been. [It's the 'one of us' that gets her.] Having such kind people to stay with is so wonderful.
