[So Kurt intially wakes up near the southern lake - in an immediate panic at the lack of clothes, even his uniform, or his image inducer. He only sees the book nearby. Curiously, he winds up peering into it and musing into it, unaware that it's recording this snippet.]

Doesn't look at all like the bayou... Where did they go? [He looks down into the book.] And where did this book come from? My name's on it. A gift from the Professor? Something about this book seems really weird... But I should try to find the others first.

[And so... this blue, fuzz demon will be teleporting around in acrid puffs of smoke, trying to stick to treetops and following the river towards the village. Every now and then, he stops just to take another look at the book. There's got to be something he's missing. And are those voices he hears from this weird book?

And as he arrives at the village, he may wind up accidentally teleporting into one of several houses. Something just seems a little off about his power here, you know? Hope this blue demon-looking guy doesn't catch you off-guard, with the dramatic smoke puffs that follow him. He could even wind up in the item or clothing shop before meeting anyone he knows.]

[He nods along with her first sentence, still really doubting that he'll get such a level of acceptance.]

Yeah, if you want, I'll be right out in a jiff! It'll be an important test to tell if I have enough wits to make my way around a clothing store!

Well, I don't want to keep you. Did any of the others tell you where the house is?

Number 16, right? I think I know the general direction at least.

Mmhmm, that's the one. It's just over there [pointing in the proper direction up the road] but maybe you ought to walk there the first time.

You know? After all the mishaps that've happened today when I tried my teleporting, that sounds like the best advice I could get. You're a wise one, Mia.

Oh, maybe that's because you aren't as strong here as you would be at home. I think you could only go so far, last time.

[wildbluevagner]

Something funky in the air here? But... that would explain a lot. [He sighs.] And I bet Logan's going to enjoy this excuse to give us more Danger Room time.

No, it is a limit on our abilities imposed by the Malnosso. I wish I could say you'll get used to it, but...well. Maybe you will.

The "danger room" is the name of his training program, isn't it?

More like a torture progam. [He sighs. But then he blinks as he realizes what they're talking about.] You really know a lot about us, don't you?

You could say that. Living in a house with Rogue and Logan and Ororo has taught me more about you! And they always train in the place where I work.

You don't say. Heh, it's almost like you're one of us. [It was weird. Like being gone forever without knowing he was gone and coming back to a new member of the family... who already knew so much about him.] I hope you haven't just been told the most embarrassing stories.

[Mia blushes, one hand tugging at the opposite sleeve.] No, I...of course I haven't been. [It's the 'one of us' that gets her.] Having such kind people to stay with is so wonderful.

Kind people? Now I'm wondering where they put the real Logan and Rogue. [With a joking smile.]

I think that is the real- Rogue, at least. [She does not think Logan's true nature is kindness, no.]

Rogue did seem to check out when I saw her. She does have her better moments, I have to admit.

She's been an amazing friend. [It didn't start out as a warm and fuzzy friendship, though.] I hesitate to say this place is good for anyone but some parts are better than others.

That's good to know. It sounds like you are really good friends. I know I haven't known you long, but... all joking aside, I'm glad that she's had a friend like you. [Especially since the closest people Rogue had from home to steady female friends weren't here at all.] It looks like you've done her some good.
