[So Kurt intially wakes up near the southern lake - in an immediate panic at the lack of clothes, even his uniform, or his image inducer. He only sees the book nearby. Curiously, he winds up peering into it and musing into it, unaware that it's recording this snippet.]

Doesn't look at all like the bayou... Where did they go? [He looks down into the book.] And where did this book come from? My name's on it. A gift from the Professor? Something about this book seems really weird... But I should try to find the others first.

[And so... this blue, fuzz demon will be teleporting around in acrid puffs of smoke, trying to stick to treetops and following the river towards the village. Every now and then, he stops just to take another look at the book. There's got to be something he's missing. And are those voices he hears from this weird book?

And as he arrives at the village, he may wind up accidentally teleporting into one of several houses. Something just seems a little off about his power here, you know? Hope this blue demon-looking guy doesn't catch you off-guard, with the dramatic smoke puffs that follow him. He could even wind up in the item or clothing shop before meeting anyone he knows.]

[It is her after all. He feels relief rising at first to see her, but then confusion as he takes in the differences, staring.]

Rogue! What... [How does he voice this question properly. You were just leaving the bayou with him and... looked very different.] What happened?

Oh my Gawd.

[She takes quick steps towards him, eyes wide, face pale.]

It's really you.

[She wants - so badly - to be able to hug him. But she can't, and not only out of fear for her powers but because there was a sickening, twisting sort of feeling in her stomach - if he's asking her this, it means he doesn't remember, and if he doesn't remember then that means he could still...]

[Why is this feeling like some weird Twilight Zone? She looks older and... so surprised to see him. But of course he doesn't expect a hug. Kurt tries to speak softly.]

Of course it's me. We were just together, and now... I don't understand.

Where - where were we, Kurt?

[This is important, please oh please - look, his eyes are back to normal...]

[That she's asking this makes him more concerned about whatever kind of situation he's wound up in.]

We... we were leaving Louisiana. After we dealt with those thieves. [And he adds after a small pause.] I was worried.

[She was relieved.

Her shoulders slumped with it, and Rogue put one gloved hand on his bare shoulder, controlled affection.]

Oh Gawd, Kurt.

[He smiles, recognizing the shoulder touch as a Rogue hug.]

Can you see how I'm confused? I didn't... I'm not in the future, am I?

Ah - no. Not exactly.

[She takes her hand off his shoulder and gives him a small smile.]

You're more in a time hole then anythin' else. Last thing I knew from back home, we were on the Blackbird. Logan was gettin' ready ta give me the lecture of my life an' then - I was here. That's nearly two years ago.

[If a blue, fuzzy face can go pale, Kurt's reaches the closest equivalent.]

Two years.

[She offered him a small, almost sheepish smile and a half shrug.]

Surprise?

[A quiet nod.]

Surprise, yeah. [He grips his head as he tries to make sense of everything.] A time hole... This whole thing sounds like an episode of the Star Trek or something. You've just... been here this whole time? What about everyone else?

Ah - that's... kinda complicated.

[She dropped her hand, stepped back.]

You cold? You should get comfortable 'fore we settle in to talk about this.

[And he remembers how undressed he currently.]

A little. Sorry about that, I don't know what happened to my clothes.

Happens ta all of us.

[She shrugged a little.]

I can take ya over to the Clothes Shop - get ya set up.

I hope I didn't blow it all on this book without knowing it. [He says jokingly as he holds up his journal.] It's kind of a confusing read. But I hate to take out another loan from the Bank of Rogue.

Since when? [Rogue shook her head and moved to pocket her Mp3 player.] Anyway, don't worry. You can pay me back.

I wonder if you'll accept jokes as payment. But if you insist, then lead the way.

[It'll keep his mind off of... how weird all of this is.]

I'll accept not tellin' jokes as payment? I get five passes on jokes when I say the word.

[She's not being very fair. But she's not quite believing that he's here.]

You drive a hard bargain. [He almost found himself ending that sentence with a "sis". But he's not that comfortable. Not yet.] But how will you know before I say them?

Oh, I'll know. Or I'll use 'em ta cut you off.

[She turned back to face him more fully.]

It's not a long walk. Ya ready?

It'll be your loss!

[Some nervousness has slipped into his voice though; as she was turned, he couldn't help but pick up on those white wings. Very... very hard to miss.]

Ready as ever. [When he... doesn't have anything at the moment.] But you, ah... Why do you... We'll be walking, not flying, right?

[Oh. Right.]

Don't worry - we're not dead or anythin'. It's just a side-effect. [She nodded towards his.] You've got 'em too.

I would've guessed another mutation. [And hoped she hadn't been zapping that Angel guy lately.] But... I got it too? [He gropes around his back where he was feeling sore, and... yeah, he feels it. Those are wings, alright.] Now everyone's going to be undecided on what part of the afterlife I'm supposed to look like.
