[Action/Accidental Video]
[So Kurt intially wakes up near the southern lake - in an immediate panic at the lack of clothes, even his uniform, or his image inducer. He only sees the book nearby. Curiously, he winds up peering into it and musing into it, unaware that it's recording this snippet.]
Doesn't look at all like the bayou... Where did they go? [He looks down into the book.] And where did this book come from? My name's on it. A gift from the Professor? Something about this book seems really weird... But I should try to find the others first.
[And so... this blue, fuzz demon will be teleporting around in acrid puffs of smoke, trying to stick to treetops and following the river towards the village. Every now and then, he stops just to take another look at the book. There's got to be something he's missing. And are those voices he hears from this weird book?
And as he arrives at the village, he may wind up accidentally teleporting into one of several houses. Something just seems a little off about his power here, you know? Hope this blue demon-looking guy doesn't catch you off-guard, with the dramatic smoke puffs that follow him. He could even wind up in the item or clothing shop before meeting anyone he knows.]

Don't shoot! I mean no harm!
action;
You don't shoot hatchets. You throw them. Or swing them.
[ So he's really...blue. Astrid will lower the hatchet, eyeing blueboy doubtfully. ]
What did you just do?
action;
I guess I was a little too worried to find the right word. And... I was teleporting. It's kind of a thing that I do.
action;
Teleporting is a new word, except it's like those...transporter-teleporter things, so she just sighs. ]
Of course it is. Look, you should really give people some kind of...warning, new guy. [ he's newer than her, okay. ] It's sort of disconcerting to have people pop out of nowhere behind you.
action;
Sorry about that. It's not like I can send out a signal first or something. It's just kinda hard to get a grip on my powers here.
action;
[ Not...something that really matters to Astrid personally, but she has been studying up on the weird new place, okay?
She's visibly relaxed since he apologized. 8| Apologies go a long way! ]
Astrid.
action;
The name's Kurt. Nice to, uh... meet you, Astrid.
action;
Likewise. I'd say welcome to Luceti, but..."welcome" may not be the best word for it.
action;
I've talked to a person or two so far. All of this, it's definitely hard to make sense of. It's hard to think I'm... in another world. And that - that people are talking to me so casually.
action;
[ She...hasn't really, either, but she's seen them around. ]
Compared to that, you're sort of. [ ...You know, not as surprising as you could be. ]
action;
Human?
action;
[ Since, you know. Between bright pink talking ponies and mutant flying sheep, she's all surprised out for a while. ]
I may just be numb from all the other surprises. Electricity. Talking ponies. Other worlds. And so on.
action;
But... electricity? Seriously? That's surprising to you?
action;
We don't have it where I'm from. [ She's...not the sort of person to stand there while she talks, so she turns back towards the chalked tree and throws the hatchet again. When it lands dead center she goes to retrieve it, then goes back to line up again. ] You can see better by electric lights than torches, though. Which is...nice, I guess.
action;
action;
You've only got a ways to go until you hit town. [ She points with the hatchet, figuring she might as well...tell him something useful.
Astrid is aces at small talk, right? ]
action;
action;
[ She is not the speech giver. ]
action;
Yeah, it's a good attitude to have. I don't think you know how relieving it is to meet someone who chooses to ask questions before throwing axes.
action;
[ GET IT STRAIGHT, KURT. >( ]
And that's...something I've been working on. [ Since. Dragons becoming friends and stuff. ]
action;
I'd say you're doing well so far.
action;
Yeah, well. I've got some friends who're a good influence, I guess.
action;
Friends are good. Friends are good!
action;
They are. [ amused eyebrow raising, but okay. ]
action;
I'm glad we agree on that, then.
