[So Kurt intially wakes up near the southern lake - in an immediate panic at the lack of clothes, even his uniform, or his image inducer. He only sees the book nearby. Curiously, he winds up peering into it and musing into it, unaware that it's recording this snippet.]

Doesn't look at all like the bayou... Where did they go? [He looks down into the book.] And where did this book come from? My name's on it. A gift from the Professor? Something about this book seems really weird... But I should try to find the others first.

[And so... this blue, fuzz demon will be teleporting around in acrid puffs of smoke, trying to stick to treetops and following the river towards the village. Every now and then, he stops just to take another look at the book. There's got to be something he's missing. And are those voices he hears from this weird book?

And as he arrives at the village, he may wind up accidentally teleporting into one of several houses. Something just seems a little off about his power here, you know? Hope this blue demon-looking guy doesn't catch you off-guard, with the dramatic smoke puffs that follow him. He could even wind up in the item or clothing shop before meeting anyone he knows.]

Magic? Really? That is so awesome! Give it here! [He holds up his three-fingered hand for the highest of fives].

[...Oh god, that is so 80's. It's adorable. Billy grins and indulges him anyway, lifting a brow.]

You wanna see it?

[He nods eagerly.]

Yeah, yeah! [And he tries the best impression he can manage of a certain video game character he can recall.] Show me your movements! [One that... isn't very good at all.]

[...Pfft. Pfffft. Well, that was a hilarious fail. Billy's response is just an amused grin, though- magic takes concentration, so he should probably focus on that instead.

He lifts his hands, a blue glow flaring around them as well as from within his eyes, and after a moment's focus, a t-shirt with a trollface on the front materializes in his hands. Ta-daaa~]

How's that?

[He stares on, amazed and then waves his arms around excitedly.]

That's amazing! You just made that out of thin air. You could get your own clothing line started up pronto!

Actually, I just teleported it from my room. [He offers the shirt out- he'd promised clothes, after all.] I could probably make clothes if I really wanted, but I've got no eye for size.

Oh. It still looked great. But I thought the magician never revealed his tricks! [He says, acting aghast. With all of that, he'd forgotten he was looking for clothes in the first place. He meekly grabs the shirt and pulls it over his furry chest.] Either way, you look like you've got some pretty good control there, friend.

I'm not a magician, I'm a witch! [He wiggles his fingers, as if that will somehow make it more dramatic or something.] And I'm still learning- I used to have trouble conjouring even the smallest lightning bolt on command.

[He mocks a spooked-out face to accompany the finger-wiggling.] My mistake then, Mr. Witch. I'll try not to be spilling any water on you.

Hey, we're all still learning. I'm sure no one will be disappointed in you when you can't - shoot lightning from your hands - on command.

It's okay, I don't melt. I even take baths on occasion.

[This is fun.]

And you could've fooled me. How long have you been teleporting? You seem like an old pro.

And here I was starting to think you just magic the stink away.

You could say that, it's been some years now. It helps that I've had some good, uh, teachers. Teachers for... people like us.

[Well, he's come this far. Might as well take it a step further.]

Teachers... so you're with Professor Xavier.

Wait a tick - you know the Professor? [He was going to build up to it all cool-like.]

Not exactly- I've never met him, myself. But I've heard of him. The school's pretty close to where I grew up.

[In his time, you'd be hard-pressed to find a mutant who isn't aware of Professor Xavier. Though it's probably more of a secret as far as Kurt knows...]

[Wow. He definitely knows about the school and lives nearby... but why's he not a fellow student?]

It is? I'm surprised no one's... gotten to you, yet, then. The professor's usually really get at finding people like us. But trust me, Billy, I know you'd love it at the school!

[Ahaha... ha... ha. No professor, hardly any mutants, government protection... yeah, he might want to leave out the ugly reality of mutants in his world. Instead, he shrugs a shoulder, scuffing a hand through his hair.]

This is going to seem kind of out of nowhere, but... I'm pretty sure I'm from the future. The school and the X-Men have been publicly known around the world for longer than I've even been alive.

[And his smile... fades a bit.]

The future? You're... Is this kidding?

Not kidding, no. Though it's also possible that we're from alternate realities, if the future thing wasn't complicated enough. You'll probably have to figure that out when you meet with the other X-Men here.

[SURPRISE because. They're here. Eh-heh.]

So things are even more scifi than they've seemed. [He takes a moment to process all of this.] So you know. You knew about the X-Men and all of this the whole time. Where are they?

Yeah, sorry. I didn't want to blindside you with it. Um- Rogue's probably at her shop, back at the plaza- I can take you there, if you want? Or show you on the map... whatever you wanna do. I'm not sure where the house is, but I know Logan and Storm are here too.

[Rogue, Logan and Storm. That's a few familiar names. But what about... everyone else? But still... Rogue. He has to talk to her.]

It's... it's okay, Billy. I think I understand, or I'm starting to feel something like understanding that's being drowned out by all this headache. [A thoughtful pause.] But I'd really appreciate it if you just pointed me in Rogue's direction. It'd be better for me to see her by myself.

Yeah, I figured. Here- [He fishes for his own journal, tugging a folded sheet from a pocket he'd put in the back and spreading it out to reveal a map of the area. He points first to the community house-] We're right here, and this- [Next, the plaza area, followed by the item shop-] Is the plaza, and that's where Rogue works. If you can't find her there, you can use your journal to call them.

[He takes a good look at the map and smiles back at Billy.]

Thanks, Billy. You're a real life saver.

Forget it. We've gotta stick together, right?

[Either as mutants or as residents of this place. He returns the smile easily.]

Say hi to Rogue for me.

Of course. Something tells me this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

[It's a bit odd when he thinks about it. Rogue's been making friends here, too? What exactly was up with this place? But at least this Billy guy is nice enough.]

Will do! I'll be seeing you around, then - we can do some video games!
