[So Kurt intially wakes up near the southern lake - in an immediate panic at the lack of clothes, even his uniform, or his image inducer. He only sees the book nearby. Curiously, he winds up peering into it and musing into it, unaware that it's recording this snippet.]

Doesn't look at all like the bayou... Where did they go? [He looks down into the book.] And where did this book come from? My name's on it. A gift from the Professor? Something about this book seems really weird... But I should try to find the others first.

[And so... this blue, fuzz demon will be teleporting around in acrid puffs of smoke, trying to stick to treetops and following the river towards the village. Every now and then, he stops just to take another look at the book. There's got to be something he's missing. And are those voices he hears from this weird book?

And as he arrives at the village, he may wind up accidentally teleporting into one of several houses. Something just seems a little off about his power here, you know? Hope this blue demon-looking guy doesn't catch you off-guard, with the dramatic smoke puffs that follow him. He could even wind up in the item or clothing shop before meeting anyone he knows.]

A few. [She gives him a small smile, leading him into House 16. Once they're inside, she takes a slightly more serious tone.]

Tell me, Kurt, what have you heard about this place so far?

[He sits down with a relaxed posture once they're inside, but there's some tenseness in his fur.]

That we're stuck here, for who knows how long. Rogue's been here for two years. The Professor can't find us. And... and there's experiments and a war.

[Ororo wanders over to the kitchen to get a pitcher of water and some glasses for the both of them. She's sure he's tired, after all the bamf'ing he's done.]

That's right. Life here in Luceti can be quiet and almost slow between drafts and missions, but the reality remains that we've been caught in a war. And it is near impossible to escape.

[He takes a moment to just stare at the water.]

But near impossible never stopped us before, did it? [Except, well... Apocalypse.]

[She gives him a smile.]

Even when it has, we must continue to try anyway. Which is why it is perhaps important now more than ever that we train; I'm sure that if you've met Logan, he must have mentioned keeping up with Danger Room sessions at the dome?

[A groan.]

Oh, did he ever.

[Ororo chuckles.]

A necessary evil, I'm afraid. Especially with the cap on our abilities, it takes some time to get used to how our powers work here.

[He gulps down some water as he remembers how his attempts at teleportation so far have went.]

I think I get what you mean. It could take some getting used to. But, is it alright if I ask you something?

Of course, Kurt. What is it?

How long have you been here?

[The long answer or the short answer...]

Almost two months now, this time. But I was here for several months, on my previous stay.

[Not nearly as long as Rogue...]

So you've been here... more than once, too?

Yes, several months ago. For some reason, the Malnosso have seen fit to bring me back to this place.

You too, then. It's weird... isn't it? Seeing all these people who recognize you... who are so accepting of you. But... you can't remember them. At all. It makes me feel real lousy.

[Ororo gives him a small, sympathetic smile before she answers.]

I'm afraid it isn't quite like that for me, Kurt. Luceti works in odd ways. Some people who have been here before do not remember their previous stays, while others... Others retain their memories, however vague.

Oh. You... you actually remember?

[She nods.]

I do. Several months had passed between my previous stay and my current one, and some of my memories were somewhat vague. But several people still knew me. It took some time to place them, but remembered them eventually.

Does that mean... Is there a chance that I will remember, too?

Perhaps. I'm not certain; I do not know how these things work in this world, Kurt.

I understand. It's... impossible to guess anything, here, isn't it? [Even his teachers, who always seemed so all-powerful, despite the threat of Apocalypse... they were clueless here, too.] I hope it doesn't make me a lousy friend.

Oh, Kurt. Not at all. [She gives him a kind smile.] I'm sure none of them think of you that way. I'm sure they are all good people; after all, you would not be friends with them if they were not.

Think of it as a helpful start on making friends. They already know you on some level, what's left is getting to know them, again.

Thanks, Storm. I hope I can be as good a friend as they remember. [He gives her a soft smile as he takes a gulp of water, but he remains generally troubled-looking.] And as... as Rogue remembers, too. You said you were here less than a year, and so did Logan. Is she... the only one who's been here so long?

I believe so. I'm not certain how long you had been here yourself, when you were around, however. Though if I'm not mistaken, you were around for months before Rogue's arrival. [He and Kitty received her, after all. She remembers when it was just the three of them, and they lived in an apartment, instead of the house...]

Really? This is all so complicated. I was actually here first? But she was here for the longest...
