[So Kurt intially wakes up near the southern lake - in an immediate panic at the lack of clothes, even his uniform, or his image inducer. He only sees the book nearby. Curiously, he winds up peering into it and musing into it, unaware that it's recording this snippet.]

Doesn't look at all like the bayou... Where did they go? [He looks down into the book.] And where did this book come from? My name's on it. A gift from the Professor? Something about this book seems really weird... But I should try to find the others first.

[And so... this blue, fuzz demon will be teleporting around in acrid puffs of smoke, trying to stick to treetops and following the river towards the village. Every now and then, he stops just to take another look at the book. There's got to be something he's missing. And are those voices he hears from this weird book?

And as he arrives at the village, he may wind up accidentally teleporting into one of several houses. Something just seems a little off about his power here, you know? Hope this blue demon-looking guy doesn't catch you off-guard, with the dramatic smoke puffs that follow him. He could even wind up in the item or clothing shop before meeting anyone he knows.]

[She scratches her chin thoughtfully]

That's new to me. But it's interesting. Is teleporting your only power?

It... is? [Someone not familiar with mutants?] You could say it's my main one. I can do a few others things, like I just did on your wall. [He motions to the part of the wall he was sticking to a little while ago.]

Well, outside of comic books and things, it is.

[She waves a hand and starts walking toward the door. For a boy to be in her room? That's extremely taboo and she doesn't like it.]

If...you don't mind, can we continue this conversation somewhere else?

[If only. Comic book characters seem to get all the glory.]

Yeah, sure. Just point the way.

[She leads him down the hall and into a decent sized living area]

Are you hungry, or thirst? I know it's probably very confusing right now. Have you found your journal yet?

[He looks around sheepishly, not sure if he's supposed to sit or not.]

Ah, a little bit, but it's no matter. I do have my journal, and I've learned a little bit about this place so far. I was just trying to find my friends.

Ahh, well. Here, let me at least give you something. An apology for my hasty actions.

[She gestures to a chair and heads to the fridge, bringing out a bottle of water and a plate of cherry dango]

Who are your friends?

[He sits himself in a chair while she brings over the refreshments.]

You don't have t- Thanks.

Well... I'm not exactly sure who's here and who's not. I heard that Rogue's here. And I think one of instructors might be here, too. I'm not too sure about my other friends.

[Rei sets down the snacks and takes a seat opposite him]

I'm afraid I don't know Rogue, but who else might you be looking for?

[A slight disappointment, although he may have already heard of Rogue's presence through others. He pauses for a moment as he considers.]

Well, out of the people I was with before I came here... There was Scott. He wears a funky visor all the time. And our teachers... uh, Logan and Ororo.

Well, I think I've spoken to Logan once. He seemed pretty angry though.

[His answer is swift and almost automatic. That one sentence is exactly enough to go by.]

That's him alright.

He's...a teacher?

You could say that. Would you really expect someone like me to have a more normal teacher?

Maybe. I don't know how mutants work, you know.

[But she smiles a little tiredly]

Where are you from, anyway?

Not many do, really.

Bayville. It's in New York.

Ah, I thought you sounded American.

Ah, I guess it shows! I have been spending my blissful adolescence in the United States, but I was born in Germany.

Ahhhh.

Well, I apologize for all the questions, you must be feeling overwhelmed. But...one more. Are there many mutants at home?

It's okay, really. I like to pretend this is a game show. And... well, it's hard to say. We're - we're kind of a growing population. And a lot of people aren't happy with us. So lots of them... they prefer to stay hidden. [Even Evan, one of his good friends, ran off to join the Morlocks.] There's been some progress, yeah. But it's all still in the works. [Of course it was right after things were starting to get onto a better road that the whole Apocalypse thing came about to ruin everything.]

That sounds difficult. I'm sorry it's so bad for you, Nightcrawler-san.

[She sounds genuinely apologetic, but she can't really say much since she mistook him for a demon]

It must make things difficult. But you seem like a happy enough person, so that's a blessing.

Thanks. But that's life. And you're right about that. At least I got my charming personality! That always helps to get by.

It does.

[She gives him a half smile. He's not so bad for a guy, really.]

I'm not sure, but I think your friends live closer to the center of town. I haven't seen Logan-san around this area often.

Thanks. That's a good direction to go by. But come to think of it, if Logan catches wind I'm here, something tells me it won't be long until he narrows me down. He's kind of good like that.

Well, then I won't keep you. I'm sure I'll see you later, Nightcrawler-san.
