[So Kurt intially wakes up near the southern lake - in an immediate panic at the lack of clothes, even his uniform, or his image inducer. He only sees the book nearby. Curiously, he winds up peering into it and musing into it, unaware that it's recording this snippet.]

Doesn't look at all like the bayou... Where did they go? [He looks down into the book.] And where did this book come from? My name's on it. A gift from the Professor? Something about this book seems really weird... But I should try to find the others first.

[And so... this blue, fuzz demon will be teleporting around in acrid puffs of smoke, trying to stick to treetops and following the river towards the village. Every now and then, he stops just to take another look at the book. There's got to be something he's missing. And are those voices he hears from this weird book?

And as he arrives at the village, he may wind up accidentally teleporting into one of several houses. Something just seems a little off about his power here, you know? Hope this blue demon-looking guy doesn't catch you off-guard, with the dramatic smoke puffs that follow him. He could even wind up in the item or clothing shop before meeting anyone he knows.]

[Orange? He's taken aback not just by the shock of suddenly being in someone's house - he should have better control than that - but by how nonchalantly this guy is taking it.]

You did not put a hole in my roof. I suppose that is all for which I might hope.

[He maintains a hesitant distance. Is this guy really so cool with him?]

You have, uh... very strange hopes, Mister.

...I'm more of a soda guy myself.

It's been an odd two months. [Well... the last two years have been... better left unspoken.]

Soda... soda... ah. That... Pepsi or Coke stuff? [See Rogue, he does listen.] I'm afraid I've none of that. My housemate has a bit of coffee.

Times have been odd, yeah. [With Apocalypse and everything, it's no wonder ordinary people would be effected so much.]

Coffee? I'm not the biggest fan, but anything's better than tea. ...No offense.

[Loki shrugs one shoulder.] What one prefers to drink is of no particular importance.

[He makes a gesture at the kettle, which obediently begins to steam.] Is instant all right or shall I see if I might divine where he has hidden the... ah... french press.

I don't really have a preference, but you don't really have to go out of your way. I'm kind of an intruder after all. Don't you know how this works?

[He looks through the cabinets until he finds the instant coffee and fixes a cup, then returns and offers it to Kurt.]

I do as I like. In this instance, that seems to be offering you a coffee.

[He accepts it with a grateful smile and takes a sip. At least the caffeine will be helpful, if he has a lot of ground to cover.]

Thank you, sir. I don't usually get such hospitality from strangers.

[The eyebrows go up. Loki can make some educated guesses - the universe generally seems to despise blue people - but better to have it from the horse's mouth, so to speak. There is no trace of irony in his tone.]

Why would that be?

Isn't it obvious? I'm not exactly your everyday teenager.

Your appearance? [Loki shrugs.] I've seen stranger.

[I am stranger.]

You must be very well-traveled, then. [It's so comforting he almost feels uncomfortable.] To be so peachy with... with a mutant.

More well-traveled than you can imagine. [He smiles.] Ah, a mutant. You must be from Midgard. [Who would have thought that conversation with Rogue would become applicable so quickly.]

[Being German, he's familiar with the term, but not why someone would use the name as a substitute for Earth.]

Yeah. Midgard, Earth, whatever. But you're... not?

Nay. I come from Asgard.

[A pause.]

You're joking with me, right?

This does not happen to be my joking face.

But, Asgard's just... You can't be saying it's real.

Hey, my fuzz is at least explained through science! [He just... doesn't really know the science.] But you... just called me a mortal.

That I did.

[He smiles.] There's is all manner of science you don't understand yet.

Like some kind of... god science?

You mortals haven't even managed to unify gravity and quantum mechanics. One might hope you'll figure it out eventually. [He is not convinced it will happen, personally.]

But you tend to call it magic.

[A pause.]
