[Action 1: Item Shop]

[Any regulars at the item shop might notice a change in the atmosphere starting on the second; most notably, the lack of blasting rock music. While Rogue's on a mission, it's Kurt who's in charge, and he takes this with a mixture of boredom and amusement at different times of the day. He's not completely sure what he's doing and dozes off at the counter every now and then. Other times? He's stupefied by all the weird things he encounters. Like that one time Spock walked in with a cat who was actually one of his friends.

But he'll get himself up to try to help anyone look for items.]

Okay, okay... What can I help you with?

[Or one can find him trying to excise his boredom in a more creative way; trying to have fun with the items around. He'll try playing around with toys to see how they work, building up any legos he finds around or testing out a variety of items to see what they do. Depending on the item, that may not go well. Feel free to intervene if he's about to use something particularly dangerous or personal.]

[Action 2: Luceti at Night]

[Kurt is feeling restless that night; he feels like going around in his "true" form. As blue and furry as ever. So he manages to obtain a cloak that he wears to hide his features while leaving the image inducer at home, opting to teleport around a variety of locations around the village to try to perch and seek some kind of solace. His first few months in Luceti have built many a troubled thought, with all the friends and a girlfriend whom he'd been separated from. And now he has a variety of "new" friends who already know who he is. So he seeks peace and quiet to wonder if he truly can fit in here.]

[On his way back from a good night's boozing, Logan passes along under where Kurt happens to be perched. Despite the cigar hanging out of his mouth, he can still smell him. Fur and sulfur. Unmistakable. Though he doesn't look up, he does hold his position. A cowboy hat hides his face.]

Nice night. [To anyone watching, he looks like he decided to just start talking to himself.]

[Damn it Logan, why do you have to be so cool and mysterious? But Kurt manages to lean back in his perch, taking in the starlight while trying not to sound too surprised at being found.]

I know, right? It's been so much warmer lately.

[That's his default mode. All the time.]

It won't last. It'll be freezing again before long.

The Shop

[Now that he's had a chance to get a little more oriented, Derek's returned to the shop to see if he can find more of his own shirts, his jeans (the one's he's wearing now are way too loose for his liking), and his jacket.

Really, he's mostly after the jacket, since it's the one article of clothing that he carries all his hunting stuff in. He'll give the clerk a nod as he heads for the racks, and maybe something of a smile, but it's obvious he's focused on the task at hand.]

Oh... hey, there. Nice day?

[Kurt is in fact at the item shop, but out of boredom he had stopped by one of the clothing shops to bring over some of the clothes when it looked full.]

In other news, Derek nods in response to the question, giving the pile of clothing a quick once over, and then stopping dead as he sees a familiar square of tan leather peeking out from the middle if the pile.]

..S'all right if I look at that? Think I see something of mine.

[Vivi's not expecting to see Kurt in the shop--in fact, she pays no attention at all to the front counter, instead heading straight for the section where bedding and linens are usually housed. Oh, and following close behind her is a large yellow duck, one that Kurt will find very familiar indeed.]

[He sees Vivi walk in... and lets her pass right by. Still feeling awkward about how to best approach her.

But he does recognize the duck. And he tries to catch its eye while calling in a harsh whisper.]

You?!

[Vivi's already in the next room, but Carue hears Kurt's whisper and pauses, looking back. There's not a trace of recognition in the duck's face, even if Kurt might happen to be particularly adept at reading bird's facial expressions. He does look mildly puzzled, and looks around the shop as if trying to see who Kurt was addressing. Seeing no one, he gives the duckly equivalent of a small shrug and turns back toward Vivi.] Quaaa!

Oii, Rogue, you in? [He says this as he struts on into the Item Stop. Probably... in the past. But he's been trying cornbread again, so he wants to have her try it. Hence the plate under his arm]

[He pulls his face off the counter to see Rin enter. He murmurs on wearily.]

Rogue is not in right now. She is on a mission. Please leave a message after the beep.

--Oh come on, really?!

[New Feather season is a busy time at the Welcome Center, and Pepper's let time get away from her while she's been working. It's already dark when she starts to head home, making her way through the crisp Luceti evening. Outdoors, the strange scent stands out, and Pepper pauses, curious looking around as she tries to figure out just what it is.

Of course, the one permanent rule in Luceti is that anything is possible. And with new people showing up, she doesn't want to risk just walking away, so she calls out, even though she's not entirely sure she won't just end up talking to herself.]

Hello? Is someone there?

[action] Of course!

[Kurt had just teleported nearby and was trying to find cover near the bushes. Of course, Pepper was right there. And he couldn't teleport without probably worrying her even more. So he just calls out.]

Nothing to worry about, Pepper!

Oh! Kurt. [Well, that's good to know. There's a smile in Pepper's voice when she calls out, although she's also a bit curious.]

Are you--why are you in the bushes? [Granted, people in Luceti tend to have their quirks, but still.]

[Spock was in commute to his house when he sensed someone nearby... he would have missed Kurt had he not had the ability to sense.]

[Oh. Spock sensed him. That'll help him to hide all right, in a nearby tree.]

[Suki walked into the shop not really looking for anything, but waned to see if she could find anything from her world there. She wasn't really paying attention to the guy there until he spoke to her.]

Oh! No. I'm just looking around.

[He gives her a friendly smile as he peels himself off of the counter.]

Then maybe you can help me with something!

Help you with something? [She gives him a look.] Aren't you the one working here?

[ ...The kid looks kind of familiar, but considering she met him when he was blue and fuzzy, human Kurt just gets a slightly puzzled glance as Nojiko tries to figure out why. ]

[He gives her a friendly smile and moves out from behind the counter to start guiding her down one aisle.]

Oh - I think I've seen some right this way, Nojiko.

[ She's eyeing him more closely now; how did he know her name? And that voice sounds familiar, too...

Kurt?
